When you want them back again, double-click again. If you want to hide all Fences in one go, just double click on the desktop. If you choose the first option, any icons in that Fence will become unfenced desktop icons obviously, the second option deletes the lot. When you click on it, you have the choice of deleting just the Fence or Fence and content.
